Spiritual Direction Philosophy
Our world is hurting with oppression, occupation, violence, and exploitation. These afflictions have profound material impacts on our lives and our bodies. Just the same, they plague our souls and spirits. My spiritual direction practice aims to be anti-oppressive and liberatory, and my goal with this practice is to play a part in building a world with love at the center by accompanying those who live on the margins and those who work to transform our world to steady us all in an upside-down world. Through my own spiritual direction, I have better understood what life-limiting beliefs I held onto and could release and have experienced moments of liberation or wholeness in a broken world. I believe spiritual direction is a site of the Revolution, a training ground for the Revolution, and a time of rest, recovery, and meaning-making during the Revolution. Another world is possible – another world is ours to build.
