Worth, Cost, and Calling: Financial Clarity for Spiritual Directors (session 2: The true cost of spiritual direction)
(Session 2 of 3) Many spiritual directors have never calculated what it actually costs to offer this work sustainably. In this session, we move from story to numbers—without losing the soul. You’ll learn to distinguish fixed costs (platform fees and professional memberships), variable costs (marketing, continuing ed), and hidden costs (emotional labor, preparation time, unpaid admin). Together, you’ll discern your financial needs from your practice, not from greed but from faithfulness to your own calling and your real needs.
This three-session virtual workshop series helps spiritual directors and other fee-based care providers align their fees with their values. Participants uncover their own money stories, calculate the true costs of their practice, and explore the reality of what financial accessibility might mean, without apology. Participants will leave the course with practical tools and the language to hold both worth and generosity with spiritual integrity. Led by Rev. Sara Green and Rachel Maxwell, and hosted by Rev. Tandi Rogers.
