As an experienced religious educator, I find there are delightful similarities between faith formation work and spiritual direction. I get to be a witness and support for healing and growth and for the ongoing unfolding of who a person is becoming and how they relate to the universe around them.

I came to the work of spiritual direction through my eco-chaplaincy, as a response to my own grappling with grief and anxiety for our natural world in the face of climate change and other environmental disasters. I find spiritual direction to be a container that can hold our biggest emotions and questions and help people move forward through uncertain times.
